About Me

Hello ball fans!  My name is Jonathan Kyle Hall.  I go by Kyle as Jonathan is my father’s name.  I will be a Junior at Marian High School in Mishawaka, Indiana during the upcoming 2014-2015 academic year.  I was born and raised in northern Indiana and am currently 17 years old.  My passion in life is baseball and I will do whatever it takes to play this game for as long as I can.  Thank you for visiting my web site to learn more about me.  Enjoy!

Baseball Experience

I started playing baseball when I was four years old (t-ball) and have played every year since then.  I have grown to become a reliable and consistent middle infielder.  My primary position is second base, however I can easily move over to short stop as I have the range and arm strength to play either position.

marianI have played on many ball teams including recreational, all-star, travel and high school.  I have experience playing on what most would call a dirt patch nestled amongst the corn fields of Indiana and up to the graces of collegiate and minor league fields around the region, both natural and turf.

High school experience to date includes making the Junior Varsity team as a Freshman, only one of three Freshman to do so.  I began my Sophomore year also on Junior Varsity, but quickly was called up to Varsity where I played enough games to letter that year.  2014 saw me as a hit leader on JV and a solid defensive presence on Varsity.

As I mentioned earlier, I am at home and very comfortable at the second base position.  I am proud of my defensive posture and in keeping balls in front of me when ever possible.  I have a knack of tracking down fly balls too.

Offensively speaking, my stats just keep getting better.  I have become more calm and consistent at the plate and am known more as a contact hitter with a good eye of late.  My sessions in the cage and in working with my hitting coach, Jeff Jackowiak, are paying off.  Coaches are comfortable in placing me all around the batting order.  I have also gotten better at hitting behind the runner and in bunting when the situation calls for it.  You will certainly find me in the cage year round as I truly believe in practice makes perfect!

2014 Summer

My 2014 summer consisted of playing travel ball with the 16U Michiana Scrappers.  We played over 30 games at various high school and collegiate fields throughout Indiana, Michigan and Ohio, by participating in many Past Time and Elite Baseball tournaments.  I enjoy travel ball for the experience of playing in new places, meeting new people, and building comradery with my teammates on the road.

Life Experience

Although dedicated to the game, I have taken time to give back and serve in my local community.  Playing baseball is my passion, however helping others is a rewarding experience that I also enjoy. In two short years I have logged over 200 hours in community service from serving on student council at my high school, as a member of Vincentians, through a summer internship at LeSea Broadcasting, and in the mission fields with my mother at her dance studio, the Christian Dance Academy (and yes, I can dance).

In short, I am a well-rounded student-athlete who not only excels in the classroom, but on the field as well. Please browse the “News” section of my site for my resume and letters of recommendation, as well as what is current with me. Thanks!
